Some pictures from a holiday in the English Lake District in July 1999 ....
Mellbreak, 512m (1680 ft)
Mellbreak is a very shapely fell with two summits rising above the west shore of Crummock Water
The view from the north summit of Mellbreak, looking out over Crummock Water, Buttermere and the south summit. Excellent visibility. It made us almost forget the laborious struggle up the scree slope at the foot of the fell to get here. We even had a good view of the Isle of Man, 50 miles to the west.
The shadow of a cloud glides like a giant eagle across Grasmoor, seen beyond Low Ling Crag. This low, narrow promontory juts out half way along the west bank of Crummock Water.
